‘slate.gender.format’ is a short series which aims to represent the everyday life of young workers in Brick Lane, in the aftermath of covid, during the first few months after the reopening of the country.

Its title offers an abstract viewpoint to the modernisation and gentrification that makes one side of the Lane differ from the other, by utilising the 3-word-geolocation for the exact point where Brick Lane splits.

My intention is to develop a photo-essay that shows positiveness and resolution through the eyes and routines of Brick Lane’s young workforce.

Proximity to the subject for me is a means to achieve a better and more profound understanding of human connections and what brings us together.
